The Universe Project: Making it Real

Download this episode (57 min)
Last week on our call, Andrew Cohen, in about 30 minutes, outlined his conception of “The Universe Project.” He talked about the creative drive that initiated and propels the process of evolution, and explained that our own desire to evolve is our own experience of that primordial impulse. The vision he laid out was vast, sweeping, subtle, and inspiring. At the same time, it can seem quite far removed from so much of our day-to-day perception of life. Over the next five weeks, we will use the discussion forum that we have been creating on these weekly conference calls to “unpack” many of the things that Andrew described, and relate them directly to tangible human experiences and actions. In this week’s call, Jeff Carreira and Katherine Miller will briefly speak about their own experience of recognizing the reality of themselves as evolutionary agents, and then open up a discussion about “The Universe Project.”

For the Sake of the Whole

Download this episode (52 min)
After last week’s powerful call on the fourth tenet (The Truth of Impersonality) we are ready this week to discuss the fifth tenet of Evolutionary Enlightenment, For the Sake of the Whole. When most of us imagine acting for “the whole” we tend to think of acting for the good of all the people in the world. In the teaching of Evolutionary Enlightenment, the conception of “the whole” goes beyond this planet of human beings. This tenet is pointing toward caring for the very process of evolution that brought this world and everything on it and the entire universe into being in the first place. How big a heart do you need to have, to care that much?

Nothing is Personal

Download this episode (49 min)
The Truth of Impersonality simply states that absolutely nothing is personal. Human life is one impersonal movement in consciousness and anything you experience is always going to be an impersonal aspect of the human experience. This tenet can be extremely challenging to understand, but as you begin to see the truth of it you initiate a transformation in how you see yourself and all of llife that will obliterate - at least temporarily - the limited and often suffocating experience of being alive that is so much of our experience.
